1ST JOHN 3:11-13

11For this is the message you heard from the beginning We should love one another.12Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous. 13Do not be surprised, my brothers and sisters, if the world hates you.

3: 12-13 Cain killed his brother, Abel, when God accepted Abel’s offering and not his (Genesis 4: 1-16). Abel’s offering showed that Cain was not giving his best to God, and Cain’s jealous anger drove him to murder. The lives of people who are Godly contrast with those who are not. That exposure often angers those who are sinning because they can see their own shortcomings in sharp relief. If we live for God, the world will often hate us, because we make them painfully aware of their sin. Jesus warned his disciples about this kind of hostility (John 15: 18-19). Tyndale. NIV Life Application Study Bible

Verse 13 telal us do not be surprised!! Like we should already see this coming. “if the world hates you,” well guess what, it does and we seemed to be surprised by this. The prince of this worlds is Satan, and he is doin his job of making this world his. We Christians are being made out to be the bad guys in the headlines today. Anything having to do with what the Bible teaches us and how Christ would have us to live is put on the defensive by all the liberal movements so prevalent today. But “DO NOT BE SURPRISED” by it and how much worse it is goin to get before Christ comes to get his church!! ON THE WAY HOME WALK WITH JESUS and “ DO NOT BE SURPRISED” as the things of the Bible ring true!!!
