PROVERBS 6:1-5

1My son, a if you have put up security for your neighbor, if you have shaken hands in pledged for a stranger, 2you have been trapped by what you said, ensnared by the words of your mouth.3So do this, my son, to free yourself, since you have fallen into your neighbor’s hands:Go to the point of exhaustion and give your neighbor no rest! 4Allow no sleep to your eyes, no slumber to your eyelids. 5Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the snare of the fowler.

6: 1-5   These verses are not against helping someone financially but against overextending one’s financial resources and acting in irresponsible ways that could lead to squandering money. It is important to maintain a balance between generosity and good stewardship. God wants us to help our friends and those who are in need, but he does not promise to cover the costs of every unwise commitment we make. We should act responsibly so our own families do not suffer.

Tyndale. NIV Life Application Study Bible.

This doesnt seem to be much trouble for society today, because finances are so tight with most people that they can't or won't give help to others when asked. But there are some that would help even if it put them in fianacial hardship! And in doing so it shows a lack or control in our life of our finances. God wants us to help others when we can, but not at the expense of us suffering for a decision made that makes us suffer for the cost of that help whether finacial or something else. ON THE WAY HOME WALK WITH JESUS and make sure when we help others no matter how we halp them that we dont put ourselves or family in peril because we were trying to appear as helping others at a cost of our suffering!!!!
