LOVE GOD AND YOUR BROTHER

1 john 4:19-21

19: We love because he first loved us. 20: Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 21: And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.

4:19 God’s love is the source of all human love, and it spreads like fire. In loving his children, God kindles a flame in their hearts. In turn, they love others, who are warmed by God’s love through them.

4:20-21 It is easy to say we love God when that love doesn’t cost us anything more than weekly attendance at religious services. But the real test of our love for God is how we treat the people right in front of us—our family members and fellow believers. We cannot truly love God while neglecting to love those who are created in his image. Life Application Study Bible NIV

Learning to love God is sometimes hard! When things are not going as WE planned we question God and why things aren’t going smoothly!! We think we know what is best and when it is best for us in our daily lives. And loving brothers and sisters isn’t always easy either, it seems as though when we put our trust in someone they will turn on us and betray our love we give. But usually if we look at the big picture or the real picture they are not children of God therefore they aren’t really our brothers and sisters anyway and they truly don’t Love God either. SO as we live our lives we have to also learn to have the discernment of true brothers and sisters and we can see that by there fruits. Paul said you will know them by their fruits!! And God wants us to love all. Love the sinner but HATE the sin. So ON THE WAY HOME WALK WITH JESUS in his love and love GOD and LOVE our Brothers and Sisters who are true children of GOD!! And learn to hate sin more and more everyday!!!
