SCOLDED AND CHARGED

2 Corinthians 7:8-11 New International Version (NIV)

8: Even if I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it. Though I did regret it—I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while— 9: yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us. 10: Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. 11: See what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern, what readiness to see justice done. At every point, you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter.

In the books of Corinthians Paul is rebuking the Corinthians for their allowing false teaching to come into the church. Here Paul is telling them he is sorry, but he doesn’t regret what he is doing. How often do we as children get scolded? As a parent, do we scold our children? But why do we do this? To show the wrongs going on and lead them to sorrow and repentance, or correction in what they are doing in order to live a life correctly and for Christ. When we have a preacher preaching and we think “wow he is talking to me”. Well, we must be guilty! When we feel this, do we change or correct what is wrong? We should! Don’t let pride or arrogance keep you from church and God’s correction.

ON THE WAY HOME WALK WITH JESUS and make sure when you are scolded that you do your repentance if neccesary and live according to Gods will.
