THE BRANCHES AND THE ROOT
ROMANS 11:17-18
17If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, 18do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.
In the Bible stories are told and points are often made by using compassion. Jesus said in John 15 “ I AM THE VINE”, “YOU ARE THE BRANCHES”. Here in romans, Paul, to is using that type of analogy. We were the branches that were grafted in. And as we grow, we have to remember we were grafted in by the grace of God! It wa none of our own doings that we should think of ourselves higher than we ought to> It is the “ROOT” that is Christ that supports us and gives us our life. ON THE WAY HOME WALK WITH JESUS in the life that we are grafted into, through HIM.
