THORN IN YOUR SIDE

2 Corinthians 12:7-9 New International Version (NIV)

7 or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Do you ever catch yourself thinking that “you are all that” or you can handle things on your own, or even that you don’t need to or forget to talk to God about things in your daily life? I know that I have. But God always seems to remind me that I do need his guidance, His ways and not mine. And He does this sometimes in little or subtle ways. But He also has a certain thing with me that is a constant reminder of where I have been and what I have done. It reminds me that my ways DIDN'T work. That without Him in my life I can do nothing. It may not be a physical thorn in my side but it does keep my focus on Christ not on myself.

ON THE WAY HOME WALK WITH JESUS and make sure that you don't keep going back to having that THORN IN YOUR SIDE poking you all the time!!!
