WORK DON’T STEAL

Ephesians 4:28

Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.

Well that is plain enough! But stealing is not always as evident as it really is. There are many ways to steal rather than just taking something that is not yours. Especially when you add the second part of the verse of doing work with own hands. How about unemployment Medicare, food stamps, welfare or even disability. Sure, there are those who need one or all of the above, but what about the ones that take advantage of the system because they are hungry. Is that not stealing? And then last “so you can share with those in need.” This is a Christian trait, one of helping others, one of freely giving. Years ago people in the church helped people in need and they still do today. But, today people have gotten so use to getting things given to them that they think it is owed to them, and they forget someone must pay that bill. Even in the apostles’ day they paid there way by working and gave to the needy.

ON THE WAY HOME WALK WITH JESUS and pay your own way and steal no more.
