PROVERBS 23:1-3
1When you sit to dine with a ruler, note well whata is before you, 2and put a knife to your throat if you are given to gluttony. 3Do not crave his delicacies, for that food is deceptive.
23: 1-3 The point of this proverb is to be careful when eating with an important or influential person because he or she may try to influence or bribe you. Unwary meetings over meals can lead to undermined convictions. No good will come from such occasions. Don’t be fooled by the glamour of a free meal.

Have we ever been to eat with someone and the meal cost as much as we might spend for a weeks worth of groceries? Well I have and I have also took people to eat when we would meet to do dope deals. i would meet "my people" for an early breakfast at either denny's or waffle house every morning to exchange money and dope! and i would buy all of our breakfasts. which needless to say was expensive for 5-9 people everyday! But what was I doing? buying loyalty, I thought!! anyway it ended up costing all of us a lost part of our lives whether it was jail time or family time or financial loss!! NOTHING GOOD CAME FROM IT!!
ON THE WAY HOME WALK WITH JESUS and make sure that we don't let the deception of a meal or other financial foolery trick us into not doing or living right in GOD'S eyes or make us compromise our CHRISTIAN life as we are ON OUR WAY HOME!!
