DOES NOT ENVY

1 CORINTHIANS 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy.

AGAIN Webster’s dictionary says: 1. Malice 2. painful or resentful, awareness of an advantage enjoyed by another joined with a desire to possess the same advantage. 3. An object of envious notice or feeling.

OOOOOKK Now we start to get in our feelings a little bit. We all seem to want what someone else has or what we don’t have and would like to have. This boy has a motorcycle and I only have a bike. This man has a nice home and good looking wife. Even as Christians we might say “that church has a big church building, a wedding chapel, a gymnasium, a recreation hall. We need that too”. Envy only leads to thoughts of how to get something God seems to have not given us, therefore causing us to resent what God HAS given us. God says the He will never leave us nor forsake us. Envy will destroy our love of what God has done and is doing in our lives. ON THE WAY HOME WALK WITH JESUS AND be satisfied with our sandals and don’t envy someone’s fancy leather footwear!!
