FAMILIAL LOVE
EPHESIANS 6:1-4
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— 3 “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” 4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
Here we see the command of children to love your parents AND it carries a promise of a long life on earth and of wellbeing. So many times, as children we think mom and pops don’t love me, they are mean, they don’t want me doing things i want. Maybe we should read the last verse also, that tell parents to bring us up in the ways of the lord!! maybe they are trying to teach us Gods ways instead of what we want which is the ways of the world. It took me about 50 of my 60 years to figure this out. that my parents love me and that i really do love them. today i spend a lot of my time making up for lost time that i spent NOT loving them. today i thank God every day for giving the time with them to show that love. I also see many others that don’t have the fortune that i do to love their parents. they won’t be with us forever, so don’t hold back the love they deserve. LOVE YOUR PARENTS!!!! let them know how much they mean to you. give them the simple gift of love. ON THE WAY HOME WALK WITH JESUS AND LOVE YOUR PARENTS AS JESUS LOVES YOU. GODS LOVE TO YOU ALL.
