PROVERBS 12:16-19

16Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult.17An honest witness tells the truth, but a false witness tells lies. 18The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

12: 16   When someone annoys or insults us, we naturally want to retaliate. But this solves nothing and only encourages trouble. Instead, when this happens, stay calm and answer slowly and quietly. Your positive response will achieve positive results. Proverbs 15: 1 says, “A gentle answer turns away wrath.” 12: 19   Truth is both timeless and timely; it offers wise advice, accountability, and justice today, which in turn impacts the future. Truth is always relevant and consistent because it comes from God’s changeless character. Think for a moment about the centuries that have passed since the proverbs in this book were written. Consider the countless hours that have been spent carefully studying every sentence of Scripture. The Bible has withstood the test of time. Because God is truth, you can trust his Word to guide you wisely.

Tyndale. NIV Life Application Study Bible

How true I find this to be! I used to tell a lie when the truth was better! No rhyme or reason other than my justification was to never let anyone know what I was doing! (which was normally something wrong and or illegal!)Today I find it so much easier to tell the TRUTH! And having God's guidance of SCRIPTURE allows me to do so with a satisfied feeling of doing RIGHT and gaining WISDOM!!

ON THE WAY HOME WALK WITH JESUS and make sure your words are wise words and not foolish words!!
