MOTIVES
PROVERBS 16:2 NIV
16:2 All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the LORD. Our ways seem right to us. We make it so they fit our needs. But God sees our hearts, He knows when we do things for self or out of pride. Or when we do things out of anger to hurt others or to make them look bad or for us to look good. Examine yourself and make sure your motives are selfless and for God’s glory not our own. Proverbs 16:2 “All a person’s ways seem pure to them. People can rationalize anything if they have no standards for judging right and wrong. We can always “prove” that we are right. Before putting any plan into action, ask yourself these questions: is this plan in harmony with God’s truth? Is my attitude pleasing to God?” Life Application Study Bible.
