PREACH JESUS FOR JESUS

Philippians 1:15-18

15 It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. 16 The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. 17 The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. 18 But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice.

Here Paul says he preached Jesus for the glory of Jesus. He also says while he was imprisoned that some of the others were preaching Jesus , but were doing it in a selfish attitude to make people look at them and comparing themselves to Paul. But Paul told the Philippians it didn’t matter to them how Christ’s gospel got out as long as they preached the true gospel of Christ. God knows selfish motivations and will deal with that on judgement day. Our job is to tell others about Jesus and what His love does in our life and do it selflessly. Doing it all for the glory of Jesus Christ.
