SAVE FOR TIMES AHEAD!!!

PROVERBS 21:20

20The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down.

21: 20   This proverb teaches us about saving for the future. Easy credit has many people living on the edge of bankruptcy. The desire to keep up appearances and to accumulate more pushes them to spend every penny they earn, and they stretch their credit to the limit. But anyone who spends all they have is spending more than they can afford. A wise person puts money aside for hard times. God approves of foresight and restraint. Examine your life choices to see whether your spending pleases God or merely pleases yourself.

Tyndale. NIV Life Application Study Bible

Goodness gracious, I just can't stop seeing my own foolish mistakes! Even as I live today I still look at scripture and see how I could have done things more to please God than to do what I thought I needed to do. When I first got out of prison I said I was going to live my life in a LEGAL and CHRISTIAN life as possible. So starting from nothing, I thought I needed to get my credit built to a place where I could do whatever I needed to do financially on my GOOD credit because I had never had credit! And I used credit cards to help me obtain the many things a person would need in starting over from nothing. And then it took everything I was making to pay bills and stay afloat in the financial part of my life. Which has been making me work so hard that I was lacking in my time I should have been giving to God!! Today thankfully (4 years later) I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. BUT, did I short change GOD in my time and effort to please him? MOST CERTAINLY!! Did I obtain what I was working towards finacially? Not quite!! Did I struggle in getting my desires done?? YES!! Does God want us to struggle and have to be in a perpetual bind all the time? Certainly not!!

SO ON THE WAY HOME WALK WITH JESUS and make sure that we look to the future and use wise choices to obtain what our desires are. And most important, make sure we ask God what his desire is for us and guide us into making the best choices so we can represent GOD in his will and ways.
