SELFISH OR SELFLESS

PHILIPPIANS 2:3-5

2:3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. 5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus.

Boy this starts tough “don’t be selfish”. Then it gives us a break, tells us to “look not only to ourselves but to others”. I think that most people stop there and think this means get what we want and if there is any leftover (which there Is usually not) then we should help others. But then it says have to the same attitude as Christ, HUMBLE. When we have a humble attitude, we open the door and let someone else go first, or at the store when we are in line and have a basket full and some one behind us has only a few items, we let them go next. Or when mom is sick and we cook supper for her? Being humble is easy to do and it is one thing God looks at and brings Him pleasure to see being humble and it will also show others a Christian attitude. ON THE WAY HOME WALK WITH JESUS and have a loving selfless, humble attitude.
