TEACH THE CHILDREN
Mark 9:36-37
36 He took a little child whom he placed among them. Taking the child in his arms, he said to them, 37 “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.”
In Jesus day the children were treated as they were not smart enough to understand. But Jesus said that is not so. He said bring the children and put them among yourself. Today is no different. Yet we allow our children to see and partake of things that are not pleasing to God. We should start our children very young in teaching them about Jesus. We should continue to shelter them from the evils of the world as they grow. Society says let them grow up! I remember my parents telling me to be a child as long as I could. Yet I wanted to grow up. And that cost me a lot of pain and suffering. Jesus wants is to come as children and to grow and mature into Christians that suffer as least as possible. Not one Christian can say his life is all peaches and cream. If he does, he is a liar. Jesus said remember when you are persecuted they persecuted me first. The persecution and suffering that I caused my parents, family and friends was caused by my disobedience. When we obey Christ we will still have trials but they will be easier to handle and become less and less in consequences that affect our lives in a detrimental way. ON THE WAY HOME WALK WITH JESUS and teach and show your children a way of love and compassion.
