WE MAY CHOOSE BUT GOD MAKES IT HAPPEN

PROVERBs 16:33

33The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the LORD.

16: 33   The casting of lots was almost always done in ceremonial settings and was the common method for determining God’s will in ancient Israel. It wasn’t merely relying on fate. God’s people would pray and ask God to answer them through this means. Several important events were decided by casting lots, including the identification of Achan as the man who had sinned (Joshua 7: 14), the division of the Promised Land among the tribes (Joshua 14: 2), and the selection of the first king for the nation (1   Samuel 10: 17-24). We no longer need, nor should we rely on, casting lots to make decisions. Every believer now has the Holy Spirit within them to help them make wise choices.
