ACTS 17:23, 24

23 For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. So you are ignorant of the very thing you worship—and this is what I am going to proclaim to you. 24 “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands”

As Paul spoke, he told the men he saw they were “religious”. He walked and observed all the different gods and temples they worshipped in, even finding one that was to the “unknown god”. Upon seeing this, I’m sure this was disgusting to him. The One True Lord and Savior who now, with the Holy Spirit, we can all have Him with us at all times. So he spoke up and told them about the creator, the God that made us all. And that since Jesus had come, people didn’t HAVE to come to their “temples” to worship “their gods”.

Today there are many different “churches” that claim to worship a god. But they don’t follow Biblical standards of a life filled with Jesus Christ. They want to compromise and try to make the Holy Spirit be what and how they want him to be. When you look for a church make sure that they have a Jesus-centered faith, not a faith that you have to wait for the Holy Spirit to fill you. The Holy Spirit is the “helper” that Jesus sent to show you Himself, not to replace Him. ON THE WAY HOME WALK WITH JESUS and let the Holy Spirit show you Jesus and His love.
