WORSHIP GOD ONLY

Daniel 3:16-20New International Version (NIV)

16: Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. 17: If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us[a] from Your Majesty’s hand. 18: But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” 19: Then Nebuchadnezzar was furious with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and his attitude toward them changed. He ordered the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual 20: and commanded some of the strongest soldiers in his army to tie up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and throw them into the blazing furnace.

These young men refused to bow to the king or his gods. Which infuriated the king. These men had faith that no matter what the outcome would be, it would be God’s will. Oh how great it would be to have that kind of faith! That even faced with death you hold to God and His promise. Today you can have that faith, that knowledge, that salvation all given by God thru trusting and believing in Jesus Christ to be your savior. These men trusted God totally and look at the outcome.(26 Nebuchadnezzar then approached the opening of the blazing furnace and shouted, “Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!” So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the fire, 27 and the satraps, prefects, governors and royal advisers crowded around them. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them. 28 Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king’s command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God. Daniel 3:26-28 New International Version (NIV). They came out of the fire unhurt, not even a hair singed. But the king only told the people to add the men’s God to their list of gods. He still wasn’t going to bow to their God. How often are we like the king? Do we see God’s hands at work? Yet we still want our money, job, women or men, cars, houses all which can become idols or gods.

ON THE WAY HOME WALK WITH JESUS and let Him lead you thru all the fires of this world.
