THIEVES STEAL TREASURES ON EARTH

Matthew 6:19-21

19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Boy, how true this is. If you don’t believe, it just go to jail! And you when you are gone with no one to watch your home or possessions the thieves will come and steal everything that is not nailed down and then rip out all the copper in plumbing and wiring for them sell to the recycler, and what is nailed down they will pull out the nails to take the lumber. But store up things in heaven, which are good works, bringing the gospel to others, leading the lost to Christ, helping the young and old, the poor and needy. Giving to others instead of splurging on yourself. Being selfless instead of selfish. Being gentle instead of harsh, being kind instead of mean, giving instead of taking, loving instead of hateful, honest instead of deceitful. All these are goods stored in heaven.
